Anti To-Do List

I’m a sucker for a good to-do list.

The kind that has the most menial task on it so I can have the joy of checking it off later. Washed the dishes- check. Brushed my hair- check (come-on I can’t be the only one that struggles with that…).

But what about all the things I shouldn’t be doing?

Watch TV- umm not on my list. Play Candy Crush- nope not here either. Let’s put our list making skills to good use and start making a daily STOP DOING List.

All those things clogging up your time and making your to-do list impossible to complete lets make a list of those things. Here’s my list:

  1. Stop watching more than 1 hour of TV a day (kids cartoons count!).
  2. Stop being on social media for more than 1 hour a day (those couple random minutes on break count!)
  3. Stop eating chips (this one’s personal… what’s your guilty food?

In just three items I’ve freed up at least 3 hours of time and helped my weight loss goals to boot! Let me say it’s way easier to say “no more chips” than it is to cross off “lose weight” from my to-do list.

By turning the to-do list upside down and thinking about smaller steps to accomplishing those bigger to-do goals we can make it that much closer to success. At the end of the day when I the scale may not agree with my goal I can at least check off that I didn’t eat chips.

With all that time I freed up I can now go for a run, write and edit my stories, and spend a few extra moments with my hubby.

Let me know your STOP DOING list items, I need more ideas!

Happy Questing!
