DIY Fluffy Slime & Floam!

If you have been on instagram at all you probably have been bombarded with fidget spinners and satisfying slime videos.   Here is a quick DIY to make your very own fluffy slime and Floam! This is a great DIY for kids it only is a couple ingredients and is super simple!

Supplies for Fluffy Slime:

  • 1/2 cup Shaving Cream
  • 2 Oz Elmers Glue
  • 1 Tbs Contact Solution
  • 2 drops of Food Coloring

Supplies for Floam:

  • 1/4 cup Warm Water
  • 1 Tbs Borax
  • 2 oz Elmers Glue
  • 1 and 1/2 cup Styrofoam beads
  • 1 drop of Food Coloring
  • Ziploc Bag

 

Fluffy Slime How to:

In a mixing bowl combine the glue and the food coloring mix well, you can add more food coloring if you want a brighter color.

Now add about a 1/2 cup of shaving cream. Mix well.

It should be quite soupy right now, add the contact solution.  Mix well, As you are mixing the contact solution in your slime should become thicker and more slime like.

You can adjust contact solution and shaving cream to get the consistency that you want.

Floam How To:

Take your warm water and dissolve the borax in it in a separate bowl.

Pour about 2 oz of Elmers glue into a zip lock bag and add the food coloring of your choice.  I mixed mine in a cup first but you can just mix it in the bag its less of a mess that way.

Add the water and borax mixture to the ziploc bag, close, and mix by massaging it with your hands.

Once that is well combined it should look like a slime, and you are all set to add in your styrofoam beads.

To get styrofoam beads I just broke down a piece of styrofoam from a packing box and it worked really well.  See pictures below for finished Floam!

These can be kept for a long time if you store them in an airtight container.
