Q-Kids: Edible Bird Feeder

With all this heat we’ve lost a bit of bread around our house. When I realized my bagels had gone bad I was so sad. I decided to take an opportunity instead. We have been bird watching hard core with all the other activities canceled due to quarantine. So this was a way to up our bird watching game and use up our bad bread.

To make these edible bird feeders you will need a bagel, peanut butter, bird seeds, and some twine.

Have your child coat the bagel with peanut butter. Next dunk the bagel in the seeds. I recommend doing one side at a time. Finally, thread a piece of twine through the center and tie a knot (you could do this part first to save some sticky fingers). All that’s left is to find a nice spot to hang your feeder where the birds will find it. Let the bird (and squirrel) watching begin!

Happy Questing!
