No-Till Kitchen Garden-Season 3 Update

It’s early April here in Michigan and I wanted to give an update on the no-till kitchen garden that I started three years ago.

“I couldn’t be happier with the results!”

The photos below show how the garden looks today. I have not done anything to this space since I added additional layers of leaves and straw last October.

There are NO weeds!

The herbs and spring bulbs are popping through. The soil quality is dark, moist and fertile. The strawberry bed and raspberry patch are weedless. Now I am watching and waiting for the last frost dates to begin planting outside. Here and here are links to previous posts about this very garden with directions to make one.  I hope this will inspire you to learn how you can make a weedless garden.
