Making Traditions

Every Tuesday night in our house is pizza night! Josh is an expert at making pizza dough, and I am pretty good at cutting up our toppings 🙂
We always make either two pizzas or two calzones, one vegan, and one loaded with meat and cheese. This is a wonderful way to spend time with your hubby and make some memories together!

Calzones

Lets start with the dough. Get a big bowl and put 2 cups of warm water in it. Add 2tbsp of sugar and mix until it’s dissolved.

Add 1 packet of yeast to water. Let this yeast sit for 2-5 minutes to activate.

Add 2c of flour. We like to eyeball this, we start with about two cups of flour, then add as needed.

**We added italian seasoning to the dough to give it more taste, feel free to add any herbs you like.

Add 2tbsp of pure olive oil. If you don’t like to use olive oil, use the oil of your choice, next week we will be trying coconut oil!

Time to knead! Now take your hands and knead the dough for approximately 5-10 minutes, or until it is mixed well.

Make your pizza. This is my most favorite part! I love putting all my toppings onto my pizza! Below are some pictures of what I chose to put ontop of mine, feel free to use all your favorites.

Fold over your calzone. We chose to make calzones this time, but make yours a normal pizza if you like!

Your kids will love putting all their favorite toppings on their own pizza!

Bake your pizza! Put in oven for about 15-20minutes.
