Traveling to Oak Island, NC

I visited Oak Island this past weekend and I wanted to share with you some of the photos I gathered along the way.

Where we were staying in Oak Island was south facing so we were able to see the sunrise and the sunset on the ocean!

There is also a lighthouse on Oak Island, which I didn’t get to tour but was able to shoot some photos of while visiting it.

We also drove down to Southport about a 15 minute drive to check out some shops.

They were having a car show while we were in town.

Southport is where the movie Safe Haven was filmed along with a couple other tv shows, local shops have photos that they took right outside their doors of the actors.

There are also some historic homes to check out as well as all of the sailboats that were sailing by.

Oak Island was beautiful and the weather was great for the end of October, it was a lovely place to visit. If you are looking for a quiet but beautiful spot for a weekend getaway I definitely recommend it!
