Q-Kids: Pumpkin Seed Snack

We love carving pumpkins at our house each year. My kids reach inside and always squeal “Eeewww! Pumpkin guts!” It’s such fun.

This time we didn’t throw away our pumpkin guts. We ATE them! Well, at least the seeds.

To eat your pumpkin guts collect them into a large bowl. Remove the large pieces of fiber that the seeds are attached to and throw those pieces away. After you have the seeds separated rinse them in cold water and lay on a cookie sheet.

Tip: Cover your cookie sheet in parchment paper first for easy clean-up.

Lightly salt your seeds and place in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until the seeds are a light golden brown. Allow the seeds to cool slightly and enjoy!
