DIY: Blog Headers

Do you want to create a blog header that is unique to you?  In this post I will teach you how to make a great header using Photoshop and your own art.

What you will need:

  • -Photoshop (or you can use a free editor like Gimp)
  • -Paint (I used Watercolor)
  • -Brushes
  • -Paper
  • -Water

Have fun making your own Pattern, try different shapes or objects. If you haven’t worked with watercolor before, you need to experiment with it and get used to how the water and paint work on the paper.

Once your design dries and is completed snap a photo of it straight on so its flat (If you have an iphone you can use the grid tool to help with this).

Create a new document in photoshop I used the size 1440 px X 405px this is what is recommended for Wordpress.   Upload your photo into this document and you can touch it up with the adjustments menu to get it to look how you imagined.

I hope this was helpful and if you have any questions on the process let me know in the comments!
