I love using coconut oil on my skin but its always hard to use. Its either rock hard or completely melted. This DIY shows how you can make coconut oil manageable for however you want to use it.
Supplies:
- Hand Mixer and Bowl
- Coconut Oil
Optional:
- Extra moisturizing oils like Argan oil
- Your Favorite Essential Oils, Depending on what you are using it for, if for a hair mask it may be good to add tea tree oil or as body butter you could add Frankincense.
How to:
Coconut oil will whip into a buttery consistency by itself so you really only need the one ingredient, you can tweak the ingredients for different uses. Your coconut oil should not be melted but in a solid state to start mixing, it doesn’t have to be completely rock solid but the in-between stage of solid and liquid. If its too liquid you can set it in the fridge to harden some.
All you have to do is put about a cup of coconut oil into a mixing bowl, add in about a tablespoon of a moisturizing oil and about 5 drops of you favorite essential oils. Take your hand mixer and mix on high speed for about 4 minutes. This will leave a creamy whipped butter that you can use for so many things!
Make sure to store in an air tight container, and it will last for a long time, it will be used up way before it goes bad, since its just coconut oil. Store in a dark dry area. My favorite things to use coconut oil for is moisturizing my skin after a shower and hair masks!
