How to Write During the Holidays

I’ve come to realize the days between Thanksgiving and Christmas are somewhat of a twilight zone for writing. It seems like either it all gets written or none of it does. So how do you fit in a routine when life’s routine is out the window?

The short answer is, I don’t know.

The long answer is, with a generous sprinkle of creativity, it can be done. I do so by fitting words into the cracks of life. I’ve talked about it before in this post which you can read more of if you’d like.

However, it is the holidays. So I also give myself a bit of grace and even think about reading more instead. Something about the snow and cold makes my fingers disinclined to type.

So whether you give yourself permission to slack this holiday, bump up your reading, or find time in the holiday disarray, I applaud you.
